A party, AA Chiroma and Associates, presented the Director General of
the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen., with an Award of Excellence.
Shuaibu Ibrahim, for his
integrity and competent leadership.
In a statement in Abuja on Sunday, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, Director, Press and Public Relations of the scheme, said the
award came just hours after Ibrahim won another award from the Conference of Alumni Associations of Nigerian Universities in Kaduna.
She said that other honored personalities included Professor of Political Economy and Defence Studies, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna
(NDA) and Moses Tedheke, Professor of History, Osun State University, Osogbo, at the ceremony, held at Kaduna State University.
Others are Prof. Ogen Olukoya, of the Department of Political
Science and Defence Studies, NDA, Kaduna, and Prof. Nachana’a Alahira-Tarfa.
Adeyemi said the Special
Honorary Guest, retired Maj.-Gen.
Paul Chabri Tarfa, for his exceptional
contributions to society, congratulated the award winners.
According to her the chairman of the ceremony, Prof. Adam Ahmed, a professor of history at the NDA,
commended the organizers for honoring the award winners who through their respective appeals, had contributed values to society.
They were encouraged by Adeyemi to continue
the good works they were awarded for.
Speakers at the gathering, she said, glowingly remarked on the outstanding qualities
of Ibrahim with precise reference to his accomplishments as the NYSC helmsman.
