According to the Nigeria Center For Disease Control (NCDC), the overall number of active COVID-19 cases in the country is 1,504 as of June 11, 2021, a little increase from the 1,497 cases reported earlier that day.
The NCDC, which announced the news on Saturday via its verified website, also reported that there were 24 new infections and zero deaths in the country in the previous 24 hours.
According to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), new COVID-19 infections have been reported in five states: Lagos (12), Gombe (6), FCT (2), Kaduna (2), and Rivers (2).
It stated that there were now 167,051 confirmed cases in the country, with 163, 430 cases discharged and 2117 deaths throughout the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate national response activities, according to the public health agency.
Since the first case was reported on Feb. 27, 2020, the country has also completed over two million tests, according to the NCDC.
