The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reports that the number of active COVID-19 cases in Nigeria has risen to 13,245, with 120 new cases reported.
On Sunday, the NCDC announced it on its official Twitter account.
Since the first confirmed case was announced on Feb. 27, 2020, the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) estimates that the country has screened 1,601,396 people.
According to the NCDC, the country has 160,657 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 120 new infections and no COVID-19-related deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
Between Saturday and Sunday, 685 people were successfully treated and recovered, according to the study.
“Our discharges on Sunday include 82 community recoveries in Lagos State, managed in line with guidelines,” it stated.
The number of people who have been saved has now risen to 145,399, while the death toll has risen to 2,013.
The latest cases have been identified in 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory, according to data released by the department (FCT).
According to the study, the states of Lagos, Rivers, and Kaduna had the most COVID-19 infections on Sunday, with 32, 25, and 20 cases, respectively.
Bayelsa had 13, Kano had 7, Jigawa had 5, Borno had 5, Abia had 4, Oyo had 3, Plateau had 2, FCT had 1, Ogun had 1, Nasarawa had 1 and Imo had 1.
It reported that the country’s national response activities were being coordinated by a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operation Centre (EOC), which had been enabled at Level 3.
According to NAN, the Federal Government has implemented a number of steps to combat COVID-19, including a ban on public meetings and a change mechanism in workplaces.
The NCDC encouraged the public to follow all safety precautions, such as wearing masks in public areas and constantly washing hands.
