The Executive Director of Centre for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD), Mr David Obinna Anyaele has bagged the West Africa Leadership Patriotic Award for his outstanding service to the pursuit for inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in all spheres of governance.
The West African Patriotic leadership Award is a major project by the African Voice Magazine, a subsidiary of Global Vision Communication, backed by seasoned Journalist to persons of credible achievement in all spheres.
The award was presented to Anyaele in recognition of his contribution to humanity and his course to promoting inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria.
Mr. Ebenezer Ogunleye, the Executive Director of the magazine said that the recipient was awarded also to propel other humanitarian service providers not to relent in their acts of kindness and service to humanity.
Ogunleye, CEO and publisher of African Voice Magazine, was accompanied by Award Winning journalist, Ms Diana Omueza, Mr Gami Tadanyigbe, a correspondent with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) and Mr Olawale Oladipupo.
Anyaele, the award recipient lauded the group for recognising his efforts through his passion, zeal and commitment to issues and plights that concerns humanity, particularly in his that ensure the passage of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Prohibition Act 2018.
He recalled the no less than 20 years struggle that led to the passage of the National Disability Law that stands to protect and promote the rights of over 25Millionsl PWDs.
Anyaele also relived the horrific event that led to his loss of limps and advocated for more government support and political will to enforce and implement the provisions of the National Disability Act in order to enhance the living conditions of PWDs.
On behalf of CCD Board of trustees, staff and volunteers nationwide, he thanked the Global Vision Communication, through the African Voice Magazine for finding him worthy to receive an award to a genuine course.
In attendance at the presentation were CCD Staff; Mrs Peace Ezekiel, Ms Ubong Daniel and Mr Humphrey Ukeaja.
