A human rights non-governmental organisation, CLEEN FOUNDATION has called on all stakeholders in the forthcoming Edo election from the Federal government to the voters to respect the roles of each other to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
The Executive Director CLEEN Foundation, Dr Benson Olugbuo stated this through the virtual app while presenting the findings of security threat assessment towards the Edo election.
According to him for a peaceful election in Edo state, the federal government should ensure that the military should not be deployed to the street in the state but all other security agencies should be placed strategically in the eighteen local government areas of the state.
He stressed that the state government should collaborate with all religious, professional and community leaders to mobilize their members to exercise their rights peacefully.
Dr Olugbuo also used the forum to call on INEC and political parties to ensure quick distribution of electoral materials and education of the electorates.
