The Gender Relevance Initiative Promotion (GRIP), a foremost gender rights promotion organization in Nigeria commend the Ekiti State Goverment for naming members of the Ekiti State Judicial Panel on Human Rights Violations By Police Officers, SARS Operatives And Other Persons.
GRIP note that this is a right step in the right direction in response to the youth’s protest across Nigeria to end SARS brutality and human rights violations.
GRIP further commend Governor Kayode Fayemi for naming an all inclusive Panel with representation from different interest groups, including the naming of three women as members of the Panel.
While noting that the Government has started on a good note, as justice starts with leaving no one behind, GRIP appeal to aggrieved members of the public to take advantage of the Panel to seek redress for human rights violations suffered from the hands of security agents and other persons in Ekiti State.
