The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised the public to comply with
the speed limits of different types of vehicles operating on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
After tracking vehicular movement along the expressway up to the Ibadan end tollgate
on Saturday, the Sector Commander FRSC in Lagos, Olusegun Ogungbemide, issued the advice.
In managing the reconstruction project on the expressway, Ogungbemide pleaded with the contractors to
remove all the barricades to increase the free flow of traffic along the corridor.
He also admonished motorists against excessive speeding to
prevent fatal collisions while travelling on the expressway.
Commercial drivers were also encouraged by Ogungbemide
to discourage overloading and phone use while driving.
He also talked about the need
to follow all the COVID-19 guidelines.
Although ensuring sufficient deployment of FRSC staff along the corridor for motorists,
the sector commander wished travelers a safe journey to their separate destinations.
