His Majesty Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, met today with Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, who is in the UAE to participate in your country’s National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, and numerous ministers were present at the meeting.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stated that African countries’ participation in Expo 2020 Dubai provides tourists from all over the world with an opportunity to learn more about the continent’s legacy, culture, and investment potential.
The two presidents talked about measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation and enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in agriculture and technology. They also emphasized the necessity of increasing bilateral trade and tourism, as well as unlocking new investment opportunities that benefit both countries’ economies.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and President Nana Akufo-Addo were briefed on the business prospects that Ghana is showcasing at Expo 2020 Dubai to encourage more foreign investment during their tour of the Ghanaian pavilion in the Opportunity District. Ghana is one of the world’s top cocoa exporters, and its mining sector offers considerable investment potential. The Ghana pavilion also promotes the country’s banking, healthcare, and food manufacturing industries. Ghana’s initiatives to promote environmental sustainability and safeguard natural resources were brought to the attention of the UAE Vice President.
Sheikh Mohammed also paid a visit to the Opportunity District’s Armenian pavilion. Armenia is a country where the ancient and modern worlds collide, with modern innovators and some of the world’s oldest cities. The pavilion, which combines profound cultural legacy with cutting-edge technology, allows visitors to immerse themselves in centuries of Armenian history, view original works of art, and inhale the sweet fragrances of Armenian apricots. Sheikh Mohammed also heard about the Tree of Life, an extraordinary hand-crafted almost life-size structure that serves as a symbol of Armenia’s long survival.
He also went to the Vietnamese pavilion, where he was taken on an immersive journey highlighting the country’s attractive people, unspoilt landscape, and cutting-edge development trends. The pavilion tells the nation’s story under the theme “Distilling the past, molding the future.” The Vietnamese pavilion features three floors of interactive exhibits that promote the country’s rich past and numerous potential. The Vietnam pavilion, which has a long history as a crossroads of culture and business, demonstrates the country’s zeal for global cooperation and connection.
