Dr Olusegun Mimiko, National Leader of the Zenith Labor Party (ZLP), identified Agboola Ajayi, the party’s candidate for governorship, who is also Ondo State’s incumbent deputy governor, as the best candidate to bring good governance to the state ‘s people.
The Nigeria News Agency reports that Ondo State Governorship Election is scheduled for Oct. 10. Mimiko, who is the state ‘s immediate past governor, spoke in Ore on Saturday, headquarters of the state’s Odigbo Local Government Area, during the party ‘s launch of its candidate’s campaign in the upcoming governorship election.

Mimiko also urged the electorate to collect the “stolen money” that had been promised to them by some party and yet vote for ZLP to bring good governance back.
The former governor urged the electorate not to be afraid or threatened by those on election day threatening to unleash terror, adding, “We own this State together.”
Addressing the crowd at the gathering, Agboola Ajayi vowed to reduce tuition fees of the state tertiary institution from N150,000 to N50,000.

Ajayi said his administration would bring back good governance and a new civil service that would offer employment of the civil servants to consultants.

He also vowed to launch a program to tend to the elderly and bring back the different caring heart services that would help people.

“We will create a civil service revolving credit scheme for civil servants who desire to build house and buy cars.
“We believe this will serve as support for them.
“We will initiate a zero pothole project across the state and start an “Operation Restore Power in the South” in the first 100 days in office,” he said.

Mr Joseph Akinlaja, Chairman of the State Party, said that industrialization would be at the forefront of good services for the people of the state.
According to Akinlaja, the party’s manifesto was a social contract with the state people, which he claims is rooted in the idea of social democracy for the people.
Three former speakers of the State House of Assembly, Bakita Bello, Taofeeq Abdulsalam and Jumoke Akindele, among other political bigwigs, participated in the gathering.
