Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa

On Friday, the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) applauded the Court

of Appeal judgment affirming the election of Gov. Douye Diri of Bayelsa.

In a statement released in Abuja by Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, its national publicity secretary, the party described the

judgment as a victory for the rule of law and the true will of the people of Bayelsa.

He stated: “The celebration that erupted in the state at the breaking of the news of the verdict is not only a testimony that indeed justice was upheld but also that Diri is indeed the choice of the people.”

Ologbondiyan stated that, like other PDP governors, Diri, despite the “prevailing fiscal challenges,” did indeed hit the

ground running in the task of developing Bayelsa, particularly in his outline of projects in key sectors.

The party ‘s spokesman said the sectors included, among others,

manufacturing , agriculture, oil and gas, electricity, road infrastructure, and education.

Therefore, our party urges Diri not to give up, but to continue

his commitment to the good of all, in line with the PDP manifesto.

He also congratulated the Bayelsa citizens on

Diri ‘s win at the Court of Appeal.
