The federal government and labor unions will resume their talks at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday (today) at 7 pm.
Apparently, the meeting that was previously scheduled to take place on Monday was brought forward due to the defiant attitude of labor to continue with a national strike and protest against the federal government’s increase in fuel prices and electricity tariffs.
A statement signed by Charles Akpan, Deputy Director / Head of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Labour and Jobs, said the meeting with labor leaders will now take place at 7 pm in the Presidential Villa Banquet Hall.
He said that Senator Chris Ngige, the labor minister, would meet with the organized labour force.
On Thursday, the last meeting of government and labor leaders ended in a deadlock without any clear agreement to settle the conflict.
