Mr Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged Nigerians to keep praying for the country to resolve its challenges.
Secondus made the call at a fund-raising dinner in Abuja on Sunday to help the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) construct a 3000 mega-capacity church auditorium at Sure Mercies of David Mega Parish in Life Camp, FCT.
He explained that man’s task on earth is to manage the earth as God’s will dictates, hence the need to manage the country by praying for peace to reign.
“Man is on earth to manage it, we must manage well; the need to build for God is management, we must manage our lives well, this is the essence of God creating man.
“We need a lot of prayers for our nation, there is storm everywhere, the situation of the country is now pathetic; the solution will come from us through our prayers,” he stressed.
He identified the church’s pastor, Matthew Adebayo, who is also the Regional Evangelist for Region 35, as a great manager who, once the new auditorium was completed, he said, would handle the church well.
Pastor Mike Ayanbode, the Assistant Regional Pastor for Region 10, which includes Nasarawa, Niger, and the Federal Capital Territory, also spoke, urging Christians to imitate the virtues of giving.
Giving, he claims, is a kingdom investment, a treasure with a reward in heaven, and a way of life capable of rescuing anyone from trouble and tribulation.
“Kingdom investment is all about going into partnership with God, you must understand why we need to give, don’t give to God out of pity as if God needs help.
“Don’t give out of compulsion, give voluntarily and freely ,” he said.
Ayanbode urged Nigerians to pray about the growing trend of kidnappers harvesting organs and other criminal issues in the country.
