Simba SC of Tanzania arrives in Jos, to face Plateau United in CAF League encounter

Mr. Albert Dakup, the Media Officer of Plateau United, said in a statement in Jos on Saturday that the Simba Sports Club of 

Tanzania had arrived in Jos for their match against Plateau United FC in a CAF Champions League preliminary round match billed for Sunday. 

According to Dakup, at exactly 5:07 p.m. the squad, consisting of 30 players, technical personnel, the Club 

Chief Executive Officer and backroom staff, landed at Yakubu Gowon Airport, Heipang, aboard a Max Airline flight.

He said Ahmed Msafiri Mgoyi, in the company of the Tanzanian Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Benson Bana Tzambassadir, led 

the 46-man delegation of Simba SC, which arrived in Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Wednesday. 

On arrival in Jos, the delegation was received by the chairman of the Plateau State Football Association, Mr. 

Sunday Longbab, in the company of other members of the Plateau Unified association and management staff, Dakup said.

The Nigerian News Agency reports that the match, which is scheduled to kick off at exactly 4 pm, will only be controlled by 30% of 

fans in strict accordance with the COVID-19 safety protocol laid down by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force.
